Veteran broadcaster Maria Bartiromo is vehemently challenging recent claims that she was terminated from her long-standing positions as a host across Fox News and Fox Business networks. Her attorney issued a scathing statement on Friday, asserting, "The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false." The attorney further warned, "Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth."

In response to Bartiromo's strong denial, Fox News simply stated that its prior day's brief announcement "speaks for itself." On Thursday, Fox News Media had released a statement confirming that Bartiromo had "parted ways" with its networks, adding, "We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter," without elaborating on the reasons for her departure.
Despite Fox's ambiguous statement, various media outlets have since reported that Bartiromo was let go due to alleged violations of company policy. An accomplished former CNBC anchor, Bartiromo held prominent roles on Fox Business Network, including hosting the daily program "Mornings with Maria" and the weekly show "Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street." She also helmed "Sunday Morning Futures" on Fox News, which remains a top-rated cable TV news channel in the U.S.
Bartiromo's name gained further prominence when she was identified as one of several Fox News anchors in the high-profile Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit. Dominion accused Fox of knowingly broadcasting false allegations that its systems rigged the 2020 presidential election. Although Bartiromo was slated to testify, Fox News settled the lawsuit for $787.5 million in 2023. She is also a named defendant in an ongoing, similar defamation lawsuit brought by Smartmatic USA.
