A recent report by J.P. Morgan Asset Management reveals a significant surge in investor interest towards AI-themed ETFs, making artificial intelligence a top five investment theme by assets under management. This trend persists despite a volatile second quarter for the sector, indicating a strong belief in the long-term growth potential of AI and its surrounding ecosystem.
The report also highlights a broader shift in investment preferences, with ETFs continuing to attract more capital than mutual funds. This is partly attributed to the tax advantages ETFs offer, making them more appealing to retail investors compared to traditional mutual funds, which can impose capital gains taxes even on underperforming investments.
