SpaceX is set to join the Nasdaq-100 index in a fast-tracked process, making it one of the quickest additions ever. This move, enabled by Nasdaq’s new rapid inclusion framework, will prompt substantial buying from index-tracking funds like the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) after market close on July 6. Despite an anticipated weighting of less than 1%, the demand from over $800 billion in indexed assets is expected to significantly impact the aerospace and satellite company, which remains ineligible for the S&P 500 due to its different requirements.
