Wall Street reacts to Anthropic’s IPO filing
Anthropic, a leading AI platform, has taken a significant step towards a public debut with its Form S-1 filing, making an initial public offering (IPO) this year appear almost guaranteed. Prediction market traders on Kalshi are placing odds of over 90% that the company will officially announce its IPO before the end of 2026.
The filings submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) offer investors an unprecedented glimpse into Anthropic's financial landscape. Kalshi, a platform where users can bet on the outcome of future events, shows a staggering 95% probability that Anthropic will make an official IPO announcement by year's end. Kalshi defines an official announcement as the SEC declaring an S-1 effective, the IPO being priced, or a stock ticker being assigned.
The S-1 filing also reveals that Anthropic is aiming for the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol "ANT." Despite the strong market sentiment for an IPO this year, traders are less optimistic about the exact timing, with only a 14% chance that the company begins trading before the week of November 16th, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Meanwhile, on the Polymarket platform, traders are giving a 69% chance that Anthropic will list and commence trading by November 20th.
Disclosure: CNBC and Kalshi have a commercial relationship that includes customer acquisition and a minority investment.
