Welcome to your daily 'Stocks @ Night' briefing, offering a crucial first look at tomorrow's market movers and a recap of today's performance. As the Nasdaq Composite climbed more than 1%, CNBC TV producers have their eyes on a diverse set of companies, from industrial stalwarts to emerging tech players and beverage giants.
Industrial & Tech Titans: A Mixed Bag
Several established names are showing varied performance. 3M shares have seen a modest 1% rise over the last three months, though they remain 12% off their July peak. General Motors (GM) has fared better, gaining almost 9% in three months, despite being 10% down from its July high. Conversely, GE Aerospace has struggled, dropping 11% in three months and currently 20% below its August high.
Defense Sector in Focus
The defense industry will be under the microscope, with reports expected on 'Squawk Box'. Northrop Grumman is down 2% in the past three months and a significant 34% from its high. RTX has remained flat over three months but is still 15% off its August high. CNBC TV’s Morgan Brennan will be covering developments for both.
Post-Bell Movers: Airlines, Streaming & Private Tech
Following the closing bell, several companies saw notable movements. SpaceX, a private entity, is highlighted for its impressive 19% gain over three months, even as its shares are 34% off a post-IPO high of $225.64. Netflix is up 1% in three months but a stark 44% from its October 2025 high. The airline sector faced headwinds, with United Airlines down 17% in three months (31% from its high) and Alaska Air Group (ALK) dropping 25% in three months, now 44% off its February high.
CoreWeave's Turbulent Week
Cloud infrastructure provider CoreWeave (CRWV) experienced a volatile Monday, closing lower by 0.44% at $61.12 despite starting the session strong. This comes after Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock from neutral to buy, citing CoreWeave as being 'toward the top of the quality rankings in the ecosystem'. Despite this Wall Street backing, shares are still a substantial 57% off their 52-week high reached on October 28, 2025.
Cramer's Crypto-Adjacent Concerns
Jim Cramer of 'Mad Money' delved into CoreWeave's challenging week, extending his analysis to other companies in the same sector that have taken significant hits. This includes Nebius, down 43% since its June high; Hut 8, down 52% since its June high; and Iren and Applied Digital, both of which are down over 60% from their respective peaks.
October's Sweet Surprises: Beverage Stocks Cheer
The beverage industry is enjoying an 'October pop'. Keurig Dr. Pepper has reached a 15-month high, soaring 13.6% so far this month. Coca-Cola hit a new high last week and is up 8.5% in October. Even PepsiCo, despite being 22% off its February high, has rallied 5.4% this month.
