Syndax Pharmaceuticals drops on Phase 2 trial results

Shares of Syndax Pharmaceuticals experienced a 15% tumble after the company revealed that axatilimab failed to meet its primary endpoint in a Phase 2 trial for treating idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Nick Botwood, head of research & development at Syndax, commented: "The MAXPIRe trial did not meet its primary endpoint, and we are disappointed by this outcome given the promising scientific rationale in IPF."

Should these after-hours losses persist through Tuesday's close, it would mark the stock's most significant single-day decline since May 6, 2025, when it fell 22%.
