Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has declared that the company anticipates selling twice as many chips in the next year, a projection fueled by the accelerating adoption of AI across global industries. This significant growth forecast follows Nvidia’s recent announcement of a 70% revenue increase expectation for the fiscal year ending January 2028.
Huang cited the widespread demand for AI solutions as the primary driver for this optimistic outlook.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Projects Doubled Chip Sales Next Year Amidst AI Boom
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced on Thursday that the company is set to double its chip sales in the upcoming year, signaling a continued surge in demand driven by the artificial intelligence revolution. "I expect Nvidia to sell twice as many chips as this next year as we do this year," Huang stated during a media interaction preceding a summit with King Charles III in Scotland. He attributed this anticipated growth to the pervasive influence of AI across various industries and economies worldwide. "The reason for that is because AI has, has so much contribution to the benefits of different industries, different economies, and you can see that in almost every single country that we're in, people want to invest in AI."
This latest forecast follows Nvidia's recent revelation of a 70% growth expectation for the fiscal year ending January 2028, projecting revenues of approximately $673 billion. This robust outlook has significantly elevated market expectations.
While Nvidia does not publicly disclose its total chip sales figures, its high-performance data center GPUs, including the Blackwell and Rubin series, are its most recognized products. Huang previously mentioned that Nvidia had shipped 6 million Blackwell GPUs within four quarters.
Beyond its renowned GPUs, Nvidia's product portfolio encompasses a diverse range of semiconductors. This includes central processing units (CPUs), switch chips, optical networking chips, laptop chips, Jetson chips for robotics and automotive applications, and the specialized chip powering the Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console.
Huang's participation in the summit with King Charles III, alongside representatives from tech giants such as Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic, underscores the growing global focus on AI safety. Huang has been an active voice in recent discussions surrounding the ethical and safety implications of advanced AI.
"When a product is not safe, we should hold it back and keep engineering it," Huang emphasized, highlighting his commitment to responsible AI development.
