The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has requested a U.S. court’s assistance to obtain testimony and documents from Donald Trump’s family members – Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Donald Trump Jr. – in his ongoing $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the broadcaster. The BBC contends these individuals have “personal knowledge” relevant to Trump’s claims regarding a 2024 documentary’s editing of his January 6, 2021 speech, which he alleges falsely implied he incited violence. This legal maneuver comes as the BBC struggles to serve subpoenas due to the family’s security protection.
