Trump Votes Republican Down the Line in Florida Midterms, Defends Controversial Ad

President Donald Trump cast his ballot in the midterm elections on Saturday, casting his vote for all Republican candidates in Florida before heading to a rally in Georgia. Trump, alongside the First Lady Melania Trump, cast his vote at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office in West Palm Beach, following his morning at his nearby golf course. Notably, Trump, who has a history of criticizing mail-in voting, has himself used this method to cast his ballot.

When asked if he voted strictly along party lines, a smiling Trump, adorned with an "I Voted" sticker, responded, "Very much so."

Addressing reporters at the polling site, Trump reiterated his defense of an advertisement by Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The ad has drawn significant criticism due to its inclusion of the estranged mother of Democratic rival Dr. Amy Acton, a situation involving a child custody dispute and a past indictment. Trump also stood by his administration's decision to file a lawsuit challenging the certification of the U.S. Senate race in Alaska, prompted by the presence of a second candidate named Dan Sullivan on the ballot.

Regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran, Trump stated, "I may have to finish it off. Or maybe they'll make a deal, but I'm not sure. Either way, we win."

Melania Trump, who recently facilitated a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the besieged city of Oleshky to allow for humanitarian aid and civilian evacuation, was questioned about a potential trip to Ukraine. "We will see," she told reporters.

In Florida's gubernatorial race, Trump has endorsed Republican Representative Byron Donalds, who is competing against David Jolly, a candidate who has switched party affiliations multiple times, to succeed the term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis. Additionally, Trump has actively campaigned for Republican Senator Ashley Moody, who is vying to complete the final two years of Marco Rubio's former Senate term against state lawmaker Angie Nixon.
