White House AI Policy Adviser Sriram Krishnan to Depart, Citing 'Privilege of a Lifetime'
Washington D.C. - Sriram Krishnan, a key figure in shaping the White House's policy on artificial intelligence, announced on Saturday that he will be leaving his post at the end of June. His departure marks the exit of a prominent voice in the administration's efforts to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of frontier technologies.

Krishnan, who has been instrumental in developing a national framework for AI regulation amidst growing security concerns in Washington over advanced AI systems, shared his decision via the social media platform X. "This journey has been the privilege of a lifetime," he posted, without specifying a reason for his departure.
His tenure has coincided with significant developments in AI, including reports of systems like Anthropic's Mythos demonstrating capabilities to expose cybersecurity vulnerabilities in critical sectors such as banking. In response to these evolving threats, the White House recently unveiled an executive order. This order mandates that federal agencies encourage leading AI developers to voluntarily submit their most advanced models for government cybersecurity testing prior to public release.
This journey has been the privilege of a lifetime.
