A U.S. Secret Service officer, John Spillman, has been arrested in Miami for indecent exposure. The incident took place at a hotel on Sunday night after Spillman had concluded his duties providing security for President Donald Trump’s attendance at a golf event.
Authorities found Spillman exposing himself in a hotel hallway, and a witness reported he followed her from the lobby and exposed himself outside her room. Spillman has been placed on administrative leave, and the Secret Service has initiated an internal investigation into the matter.

A U.S. Secret Service officer, John Spillman, was arrested on Monday in Miami on a charge of indecent exposure while off duty. The incident occurred at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center on Sunday night, following Spillman's work on security for President Donald Trump's appearance at the PGA Tour's Cadillac Championship held at Trump National Doral.
According to the arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, police responded to a call about a naked man on the sixth floor of the hotel. Upon arrival, officers found Spillman engaged in indecent acts in the hallway. A woman who emerged from a nearby room stated that Spillman had followed her from the hotel lobby and exposed himself outside her room, causing her to fear for her life. Hotel security corroborated the officers' findings.
The 33-year-old officer, who had been on exterior security screening duty for Trump's event earlier that day, was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail on a $1,000 bond. The Secret Service has confirmed Spillman has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal matter and an internal investigation. Richard Macauley, chief of the U.S. Secret Service Police, stated that the alleged conduct is unacceptable and does not reflect the agency's standards.
This arrest follows another recent security-related incident involving the Secret Service, where a man named Cole Tomas Allen was charged with attempting to assassinate Trump after allegedly shooting an officer who stopped him from breaching a checkpoint at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
