Despite some recent share performance fluctuations, Bank of America has reiterated ‘Buy’ ratings and, in some cases, raised price targets, underscoring their confidence in these tech giants.
Bank of America is signaling a strong outlook for a selection of tech stocks, anticipating significant growth as the year progresses. The firm has highlighted several companies, including major players like Nvidia and Meta, alongside promising names such as Snowflake, Dynatrace, and Sandisk, as prime investment opportunities offering considerable upside potential heading into the second half of the year.
Sandisk
Analyst Wamsi Mohan expressed continued enthusiasm for Sandisk shares following a recent meeting with the company's management. Mohan commended Sandisk's strategic shift to a new business model, focusing on multiyear contracts designed to stabilize revenue and counter cyclical market fluctuations. He emphasized that the company's pricing power will be critical for its stock performance. Mohan characterized these 'new business models' (NBMs) as a "win-win," ensuring committed supply for customers and predictable financials for Sandisk. In response, Bank of America has increased its price target for Sandisk to $2,100 per share, up from $1,550. The firm reiterated a "Buy" rating, driven by attractive valuation, a beneficial joint venture partnership, consistent market share gains, and long-term potential for industry consolidation. Sandisk shares have already delivered an impressive return, climbing over 820% this year.
Dynatrace
Koji Ikeda, a Bank of America analyst, views Dynatrace, an AI-powered software stock, as an "excellent" investment for the latter half of the year. Following a meeting with company management, the firm raised its price target for Dynatrace to $50 per share from $48. Ikeda stated, "We are more convinced its value proposition will land more strategic deals and higher usage, driving strong growth in its key metric: net-new annual recurring revenue (ARR) in constant currency." He also highlighted Dynatrace's unique capability in securely delivering AI experiences, asserting, "We believe Dynatrace is poised for multiple years of high growth in a large and expanding market." Despite this positive outlook, shares have declined 4% year to date.
Meta
Bank of America analyst Justin Post is bullish on Meta shares, predicting further upside following the company's introduction of its new AI search feature. Post noted that the "search" opportunity remains substantial for Meta, provided the company can successfully drive product adoption. He believes AI will significantly enhance search indexing, benefiting Meta. Additionally, the company anticipates several positive catalysts, including the launch of consumer agentic products, more advanced Large Language Models (LLMs), the Connect conference in September 2026, and forthcoming details on enterprise AI opportunities. Although shares are down 13% year to date, the firm advises investors to "buy the dip."
Nvidia
Nvidia has been assigned a price objective (PO) of $350 by Bank of America. This target is based on 26 times the estimated calendar year 2027 earnings per share (PE ex cash), a multiple that aligns with Nvidia's historical forward year PE range of 25x-56x. The firm justifies this valuation by Nvidia's dominant market share in the rapidly expanding AI compute and networking sectors. However, this potential is balanced against potential challenges such as the inherent volatility of global AI projects, the cyclical nature of the gaming market, and emerging concerns regarding access to power infrastructure.
Snowflake
Bank of America maintains a "Buy" rating for Snowflake, citing several robust competitive advantages. These include its pioneering role as a data warehouse provider in the cloud, seamless native interoperability with major public cloud platforms, and the flexibility to support diverse workloads such as data warehousing, data engineering/data science, and data sharing. Snowflake also benefits from a significant installed base of enterprise clients and demonstrates strong momentum in the growing AI Software market.
