Fox News, meanwhile, maintains its stance that it “parted ways” with Bartiromo after 12.5 years, declining to elaborate on the reasons behind her departure. This dispute unfolds amidst earlier reports suggesting her firing stemmed from policy violations and her prior involvement in the high-profile Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit.

Longtime Fox News and Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo is fiercely challenging reports of her dismissal from the cable television networks. Her attorney issued a strong statement on Friday, asserting that claims of her firing or cessation of employment at Fox are "absolutely and unequivocally false." The statement further warned that they possess "receipts and witnesses" ready to be unveiled, potentially through legal channels, condemning those reporting her termination for a "complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth."
In response to Bartiromo's emphatic denial, Fox News simply stated that its brief announcement from the previous day "speaks for itself." On Thursday, Fox News Media had declared that Bartiromo had "parted ways" with its networks. "We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter," the Fox News statement read, conspicuously omitting any reason or cause for her departure.
However, various media outlets have since reported that Bartiromo's departure was indeed a termination, citing violations of company policy. Bartiromo, a former CNBC anchor, had a prominent role at Fox, leading popular programs such as "Mornings with Maria" and "Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street" on Fox Business Network, along with "Sunday Morning Futures" on Fox News, the nation's top-rated conservative cable news channel.
Bartiromo's name was notably implicated in the high-profile Dominion Voting Systems defamation case against Fox News. Dominion accused the network of broadcasting false allegations regarding the rigging of the 2020 presidential election, which saw Donald Trump lose to Joe Biden. While Bartiromo was slated to testify had the lawsuit proceeded to trial, Fox ultimately settled the case for $787.5 million in 2023. She is also named as a defendant in a similar, ongoing defamation lawsuit filed by Smartmatic USA.
