The U.S. Attorney’s office has moved to dismiss charges against Olympic canoeist David Hearn, who was accused of vandalizing the Reflecting Pool. Prosecutor Jeanine Pirro stated that damage to the pool’s sealant was due to a “flawed installation,” not vandalism. Hearn’s attorneys claim he was made a “scapegoat” for a troubled renovation project championed by the Trump administration.
