Micron Technology shares climbed almost 5% after the company announced a new round of strategic investments, initially committing up to $3 billion and raising its overall U.S. investment target to $250 billion through 2035. These significant investments are aimed at boosting the domestic semiconductor supply chain and meeting the surging memory demand driven by artificial intelligence development. The chipmaker is expanding its U.S. footprint with new fabrication plants, including a facility in Clay, New York, set to become the largest semiconductor manufacturing site in U.S. history.
